RICHARD TUB TO SHOWER CONVERSION

Demolition & Structural Modifications
This project transformed an outdated bathtub into a modern walk-in shower with improved accessibility and everyday functionality. We removed the existing tub and surrounding materials to prepare the bathroom for the new shower installation. During demolition, we discovered a vent pipe running through the floor beneath the original bathtub location. This discovery required us to frame a new buffer wall to properly accommodate the existing plumbing system. The modification also created a clean finished enclosure with a final shower width measuring approximately four feet. We additionally leveled the floor structure to provide a solid and even foundation for the shower system.
Plumbing & Shower Installation
After completing the structural modifications, we installed the new shower pan and updated the drain plumbing layout. Our team also installed new plumbing lines for the upgraded shower trim package and related fixtures. The new trim package included a handheld sprayer for improved convenience, flexibility, and everyday accessibility during use. To improve long-term safety and durability, we added structural blocking throughout the shower walls for future grab bars.
Electrical & Finishing Work
After completing the framing and plumbing work, we installed the new shower surround and updated several electrical components. We relocated and centered the bathroom light fixture and exhaust fan above the newly constructed shower enclosure area. The surrounding walls and ceiling were then drywalled, professionally finished, and freshly painted throughout the bathroom space. To complete the remodel, we installed new trim components including two grab bars and a frameless glass shower door. The completed bathroom now provides the client with a modern, functional, attractive, and highly accessible shower environment.
